One Love, One Heart, One Destiny

By Dr. Douglas J. Price, D.C.

In “One Love,” the iconic songwriter Bob Marley sang, “one love, one heart.” To this I would add, “one destiny.” What is our destiny? Is it for the individual, for the nation, or for the whole planet?

Aligning with the destiny of the world begins with you. “One love” and “one heart” means exactly that. We all are connected and we all are one.

When we violate others or ourselves, it affects the whole. A loving thing to do is to be aware of the consequences of your previous actions from unresolved conflicts. Having conflicts within yourself that result in harm to others, will result in harm to yourself.

Another loving thing to do is to keep an agreement to improve yourself rather than avoid paying for the consequences of your actions. As Aristotle said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.”

The psyche rules, not the mind. It takes an act of courage to examine any unanticipated traumatic or dramatic conflicts that you have caused in the past. When we resolve conflicts, we experience more freedom. When we heal from resolved conflicts, we develop more discernment that leads to loving, conscious and responsible actions.

It is about more than preventing karmic debts. Even when we do make mistakes, which is part of human nature, we can act consciously and with loving responsibility for the highest good of all. This includes forgiveness of self and others. How can we step forward in love and in the heart of oneness, to add to the love of the whole and to bring a brighter destiny to all?
